The Construction Project of the works for the Valencia Nautical Club expansion includes:
  • Main breakwater, composed of two alignments:
    • Aalignment 1,366 m long with slope section
    • Alignment 2,478 m long with vertical wall made of reinforced concrete caissons.
  • Lee breakwater: 555 m of slope section
  • Quays: 2.300 m long dock made of submerged concrete
  • Piers: two typologies are planned.
  • Fixed piers: hollow-core slab lain on concrete piles which are laid on rubble-mound bedding layer.
  • Floating pontoons: Pavement design. Services and supply network for vessels

Accesses and Restoration Project of "Playetas De Bellver" Beach. Oropesa del Mar (Castell贸n) Print E-mail
Experiences - Coastal Engineering Projects

Previous studies which include the execution of a bathymetric and topographic survey, the bionomics study, and the analysis of the wave climate and coastal dynamics, required for the design of the solution to restore Playetas de Bellver, Oropesa and to improve public accesses to the beach.
Different alternative solutions will be planned, including solutions which provide the design of the extension of the existing breakwater, construction of a new submerged breakwater or the extension of the existing west breakwater.  All the alternatives include beach nourishment. The current paths to the beach and promenade will be improved.
Development of the alternative finally selected in a Construction Project.

Construction project of a solid waste Plant in Valencia. Technical Direction to the geotechnical campaign. (Spain) Print E-mail

Project for the tender process and construction of the New Solid Waste Plant of Valencia. It includes the design of 7 buildings with an area of about 60,000 m2, and the site development of an approximate area of 100.000 m2.

The industrial project designs the complete process of treatment, including:

     Tunnels composting
     Bio-methanation
     Cogeneration
The project is based on ecological, environmental and sustainability criteria.

"Cala Baeza" Marina. El Campello (Alicante) Print E-mail

The marina of Cala Baeza is located in the cove Cala Baeza, in the town of El Campello (Alicante).
The planned works are located on the existing site of the port of Cala Baeza, and involve the construction of a marina, making use of the harbour basin formed by the quay and the existing lee breakwater, for boats up to 8, 10 and 12 m long.
The main works are the dredging of the basin (sand and rock) to get a draft in two areas of 2.5 and 3.0 m deep, the repairing and placing of the rubble mound pieces in the breakwaters, the building of docks with anti-reflective Warock blocks, the fixed jetties supported on pilasters, the elements of defense and berthing, port facilities and roads.
The necessary space for a dry marina and for several commercial buildings, an Administration building and a sailing school which will be built in the future is enabled. The works of lifting and launching of the boats in the dry marina will be made by means of a forklift.

Beach creation project in front of San Roque Bastion Print E-mail

Previous studies which include the execution of a topography and bathymetry survey and sampling campaign of the area, as well as the analysis of wave climate and the dynamics coastline, required for the design of a beach in the coast area of San Roque Bastion.
The study of alternatives includes the extension of the current jetty located in the north of Santa Mar铆a beach, the construction of a second breakwater for sand retention with beach nourishment and other solution consisting only in the beach nourishment  with the sand supported in the adjoining breakwater. The main aim is the improvement of the slope stability near San Roque Bastion.

Enlargement of the sewage treatment plant of Algor贸s located in Elx (Alicante, Spain) Print E-mail

The defined works consist of the alteration and enlargement of the wastewater treatment by anaerobic digestion guides for a design flow of 38,000 m3/day, with nutrient removal and advanced tertiary treatment for wastewater reuse for irrigation.
WATER LINE: PRETREATMENT + NUTRIENT REMOVAL ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS+ TERTIARY TREATMENT
MUD LINE: ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PRETREATMENT+DEHYDRATION+COGENERATION
The work was developed as technical office support for work performed, with development of detailed engineering and resolution of the various construction problems raised at the installation in service without compromising the quality of the effluent during construction.
Technical support, the selection equipment and support of the implementation of the works, were the provided services to the construction company during the installation design.

The works for the North Extension of Valencia port consist of the execution of a new 3385 m long breakwater, with 3 different types of breakwater section:

  • Rubble mound armour (1120 m).
  • Vertical breakwater (1841 m).
  • Mixed type breakwater made of concrete blocks (366 m).
  • The works are completed with a sloping lee breakwater of approximately 1,095 m long.

The works carried out were the following:

  • Study of the protective mantle of the breakwater located at the esplanade of the port facilities.
  • Overtopping real time alert system to get information of the risk for the working teams located on structures exposed to wave action.
  • Agitation and operation study of the basin of the loading ship pier sited at the facilities esplanade.
  • Geotechnical stability analysis of the vertical breakwater.
  • Study of the validity of the construction process of the berm of the breakwater which protects the facilities esplanade.
  • Study of the stability of the berm and the inner layer of Section I of the breakwaters during the construction process.
  • Design of the loading quay.
  • Design of the reinforcement bars for the circular cells of the caissons in Sections III and IV.
  • Calculation of the minimum height of the filling of caissons cells in sections III and IV and verification of its bedding layer.
  • Design of the crown wall in Section I.
  • Verification of the lee breakwater麓s geotechnical stability.
  • Study of the rate of fall of rubble mound pieces discharged from hoppers in the protection layers of the berms which support the lee breakwater麓s sections.
  • Analysis of the anchors for tugging the caissons.
  • Wave action on vertical dike due to the overtopping of the caissons during the construction phase.
  • Geotechnical stability analysis of vertical and mixed sections of the lee breakwater.

Construction Project for the Expansion of the Marina "El Perell贸" in Sueca (Valencia) Print E-mail

Development of the constructive project for the definition of the works designed to expand the Marina of El Perell贸.

302 moorings have been designed for pleasure boats with lengths between 7 and 15 m, and a pontoon of 36 m to locate the fleet which currently operates in this port.

The maximum operational draft is located at a depth of 3.5 m.

The structure of most of the quays consists of a submerged concrete wall. In the harbour mouth, an anti-reflective quay is designed by using concrete blocks Warock type on a concrete submerged base.
Network services to the port and pedestrian areas have been designed for the land part of the Port.
In the margin of the port a wooden footbridge over it has been disposed, creating a new pedestrian area.
The project also includes a study of financial viability.
